Disability claims move through levels: initial application, reconsideration, hearing, Appeals Council, and sometimes federal court. Each level has appeal deadlines — often 60 days from when you receive the notice.
What people want is “how long until a hearing in my city.” SSA publishes some hearing-office statistics, and those numbers go stale. This tool will not print a fake average. It tells you what the next level is for, what evidence to gather, and where Brock & Stout can help.

What this result does not tell you
It does not predict DDS processing time. It does not predict an ALJ wait. Compassionate Allowances can move faster; that is SSA’s label, not ours to assign from a web form.

Administrative review is in 20 C.F.R. § 404.900 and following. SSA’s public appeals pages list the levels and deadlines.

Someone with a reconsideration denial who has not requested a hearing yet needs the hearing request in before the deadline — not a guess about when the hearing will be scheduled.

If a deadline is running, file the appeal even if records are incomplete, then contact us. Missing a deadline is harder to fix than a thin file.
